Looking after your new tattoo

The life of your tattoo is dependent upon the care it receives within the first few days... it takes about two weeks to heal, and two more weeks to settle in.

Keep your tattoo bandaged for 1 hour. After this time you can remove the bandage and wash your tattoo gently with hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with cold water to close the pores and lightly pat dry with a clean towel. You may wish, with clean hands, to apply a THIN layer of Bepanthen cream - [ http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Bepanthen+cream ]. You should wash your tattoo 2 to 3 times a day repeating the above process but using warm water instead of hot.

Apply the Bepanthen when your tattoo becomes dry or feels sore. You can do this as many times throughout the day as you need to.

DO NOT re-bandage your tattoo
DO NOT use Vaseline or petroleum jelly
DO NOT use alcohol or peroxide
DO NOT pick or scratch your tattoo
DO NOT soak your tattoo in the bath or shower- get in, get clean, get out!

Stay out of pools, hot tubs, oceans, etc. for two weeks.

Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight/tanning beds.

If you are unsure of about any of the points or have any queries regarding your new tattoo please contact the studio for advice.
